Custom Shoe Lift Services

Mont Clare Repair Center specializes in custom shoe modification for customers who need to accommodate discrepancies in leg length or other orthopedic needs.  The three main adjustments we make to our customer’s shoes include:

Loose Shoe Lifts

looseinsert

Definition: Built to fit a specific shoe or a generic form according to shoe size, loose lift inserts are a simple solution for many customers.  We make both Full Length and Heel Wedge loose shoe lifts.

Benefits: less expensive than a permanent shoe lift; if generic, can be moved from shoe to shoe for the majority; hidden out of site under the shoe insole

Downsides: usually not built to more than ½" in height to allow room for the heel to fit the shoe; must be tapered into a wedge to allow room for the toes to fit the shoe

Permanent Shoe Lifts

Definition: Built into the shoe, a permanent shoe lift is either built into the sole of the shoe or attached to the bottom of the shoe.  Permanent Shoe Lifts can be made Full Length or as a Heel Wedge.

Benefits: customized to the shoe anatomy; shouldn’t be felt under foot; buildable to any height; does not have to be tapered

Downsides: visible

Types: 1) embedded into the shoe sole; 2) attached to the shoe bottom

Combination Shoe Lifts

combination lift, with loose shoe lift and permanent shoe lift

Definition: The shoe lift is built as a combination of a loose lift and permanent lift in one shoe

Example: Needed Lift Height 1” - build 3/8” in the form of a loose lift insert and 5/8” in the form of a permanent shoe lift.  The total of the 3/8” loose lift plus the 5/8” permanent lift will make up the needed lift height of 1”.

Benefits: customized to the shoe anatomy; less visible than using just a permanent shoe lift

Downsides: most expensive option

Honeycomb Service Add On for Permanent Lifts

Honeycomb pattern used by Mont Clare Repair Center

Definition: strategic removal of inside portions of a permanent shoe lift

Benefits: lessens the lift weight and increased flexibility without compromising the integrity of the lift

Downsides: added cost
