The Mont Clare Repair Center is comprised of a team of restoration engineers passionate about restoring the goods and everyday objects our customers value and rely on. Rather than let treasured and well-used goods go to the land fill, we restore worn-out boots, lovingly repair leather jackets, fix the broken zippers in ski pants, stitch up baseball gloves and give them all new life.
Lisa Sorrentino, CRE (Chief Restoration Engineer) is the third generation to run the business. What began as a shoe repair business in 1938 in Chicago’s Mont Clare neighbor, the shop has been located on West Grand Avenue since the start. Over the years the shoe repair shop expanded to repairing all types of durable goods as customers brought in their broken ice skates or baseball gloves or luggage. In the last decade, Lisa has grown the business to include online customers with mail-in services and is now transitioning to an online/in-person repair center with classes for DIYers and beginning, as well as experienced, restoration engineers.

Errors: If we lift your sole in error, not in accordance to your instructions, we will correct the error at no cost to you. Workmanship Guaranteed. If your instructions were incorrect, we will correct the mistake at your cost for the labor, materials and shipping.
Lost Shipments: The carrier of choice will be held responsible for lost shipments in accordance to their lost parcel policy.
Refunds: There are no refunds. However, we are willing to rework a lift. Keep in mind, we are contractors, builders of lifts. We are responsible for building a lift according to your instructions. We are not medical professionals. Please seek medical advice for your lift from a medical professional.
Craftsmanship Guaranteed: All of our work is completed to the best of our abilities, and we're ready to fix issues if present. We reserve the right to waive the guarantee under certain circumstances.
